A serious warning on luggage !

Hello Frnz,

Please take care while travelling with luggage to different countries and esp when travelling via gulf countries and that too when the luggage is given by relatives or friends. I got the below email from a friend which talks more on the details related to this.

Source : Fwd Email

Dear Friends,

Yesterday only I came to know of a case from a friend of mine which is very scary. One of his friends was traveling to UK via Dubai . Unfortunately he was carrying a packet of Khas Khas which is a commonly used spice in some Indian curries and sweets. Khas Khas is also known as poppy seed which can be sprouted to grow nar**tics (afeem etc.).

This innocent person did not know that recently the laws in UAE and other Gulf countries have been revised and carrying Khas Khas is punishable with minimum 20 years of imprisonment or even worse with death penalty . Currently, the person is in a jail in Dubai for the last two weeks. His friends are frantically trying hard for his release but are finding that this has become a very very serious case. Lawyers are asking huge fees amounting to AED 100,000 even to appear in the court to plead for his innocence.

Please forward this email to all you know specially in India . They should know the seriousness of this matter and should never ever carry even minutest quantities of the following items when traveling to Gulf countries:

1. Khas Khas whether raw, roasted or cooked.

2. Paan

3. Beetle nut (supari and its products, e.g. Paan Parag etc.)

The penalties are very severe and it could destroy the life of an innocent person.

VEDAM - What a Movie!

Really...Wow, Superb.....I cant express my feelings on this "excellent" movie, more than this :) ..... Hat's off to Krish(director/writer)

Its good to see that, telugu movie makers are thinking very differently these days and on top of that viewers are accepting them big time.....recent examples were...Leader, YMC, Prasthanam and now VEDAM.

Coming back to this movie....
I did not feel, atleast one scene in the movie is unnecessary or stupid....Absolutely brilliant! Especially the screenplay. Well, you may think this movie's theme is inspired(or copied) from Crash...yes, but, from my point of view, its just got a bit inspired, but both are quite different in the story line.

From the day this movie was announced, I was thinking, what kind of movie this might be? and after watching the first trailer/teaser I thought, I got a feel of story....but, no. Krish(director/writer) went a step ahead and presented this movie in a way different style(at least for telugu cinema).

Here, I want to talk on the performances(one by one)....dont know with whom should I start...everyone in this movie acted their best I can say. Okay, I will go with the order they were introduced in the movie.

Manoj Manchu: First of all, I could not understand, why they gave a statement at the start of the movie that his will be a guest role, when he got a equal footage as others?....anyway, He really looked like a Rockstar(as his character is) and ofcourse he was brilliant in action episodes.

Nagayya: This old man.....he will make you cry with his acting. Superb acting for a first timer(by the way, if you don't know, this actor was found on the road side to the director).

Anushka: I could not believe she can do such kind of roles with such ease. What can I say, she was not acting she was living the character ;)

Manoj Bajpayee: What a brilliant actor he is. His acting skills as a muslim guy who is tortured by a police man who does not like muslims is mind blowing.

Allu Arjun: Last but not least, Allu Arjun. He was stunning. His comedy in the first half and his acting in the second half is SUPER!

Others: Satyam Rajesh, police man, lady who acted as Nagayya's Daughter-in-law and Raghu Babu stand out and others are good.

Screen Play, dialogues and Direction: Krish did a absolute brilliant job in handling the 5 characters without loosing the soul of the movie. Ofcourse, you can see shades of Crash in the screenplay, but, I liked the way the director joined the 5 stories
towards the end. Direction was top notch with some ultimate diaglogues.

Music and BGM: Big bow to Keeravani. His music(songs) and BGM in the movie raise the movie's tempo in every scene. He did a brilliant job.

Cinematography: Special mention to him(guess its Gnanasekhar). His camera angles...especially the camera angles of entier chain snatching

episode(camera on the bike to take the close up shots etc)

On a whole....you know what, JUST GO AND WATCH IT....DONT MISS IT!

Changing password for a Remote System/Server - my 50th post :)

Hi Frnz,

After very long time, I am posting this.....I have been very busy and could not post any updates recently. By the way, this is my 50th post guys.....Yahoo!

Matter entante....I have learnt some thing new today and wanted to share that with you all. Most of us work in IT field and obiviously we do connect to a remote desktop(connect using RDC to a server) most of the times. Did you ever notice that you can change the password yourself, with out asking your admin? Well, I did that today. In general if you want to change the password for your laptop(office m/c), you do a Ctrl+ALt+Del and do that, but, that will not work for the Remote Machine...instead...type CTRL+ALT+DEL, from your remote machine and you get the option to change the password....that's it, Done!

"2-Good" Movies, I watched recently

From a long time, I was thinking, why our Telugu film makers are still going for routine mass masala movies, when we see some experimental yet good movies from Hindi/Tamil people etc....Well, I think the telugu audience are tuned that way....anyways, I watched a couple of movies recently and felt that our Telugu Movie Makers have changed their style and making a new way...below is my take on those "2 Good" movies.

1. LEADER:

This is a movie which comes under typical political genre. Before, I watched this, I was thinking how Shekar Kammula will handle this kind of a movie that too with a new comer. He did a good job, except for that love story part(as it dilutes the intensity and deviates our mind a bit).

Good:
->Story, as it is very close to today's politics(not sure if one can become a CM as shown, but expecting such a Leader).
->First half is very much gripping, esp, the screenplay is very good.
-> Good acting by all(except the actress who comes in the first half, she irritates you)....though, I felt, Rana could have done better....he did not spoil the character, so good...by the way, his voice is very good.
-> Music is good....I liked the BGM in some of the scenes.

Bad:
->When you are watching a intense scene....all of a sudden a girl(herione in the first half) comes and talks in childish way(dont know how to define this...well,may be, like our telugu anchors talk..hehe)....you dont understand how to react....Also, her diagolgues, add to that. I felt, all the scenes which has girl talking are not well shot.
-> Love Story and one song(aunana kadana) placement - Director has justified this(love story) in the end of the movie. May be a young CM will fall in love but being a CM how can one go daily to the girls place...doing his work from a restaurant....hard to digest..director should have shown it in a different way. Atleast, I felt that.

Overall, its a good watch.

2. Ye Maya Chesave:

Well, I watched this movie after a week of its release and till then many of them watched it and gave "very" different opinions to me. One said its was too good, while other said it was really boring....In general, we dont hear such contrasting opinions from the general public on a movie. Anyways, I thought, after hearing to all those opinions, that this movie might be some thing really different....also, as one of my
favourite directors Gowtham directed it and with some superb songs by AR Rahman this movie created a lot of interest in me. At last, I watched it and felt very good. Its a typical, simple, plain love story.

Good:
-> Direction. Yep, narrating a simple love story(you can see just two characters for 90% of the movie) in a interesting way is what I primarily liked.
-> Music - Songs are Superb....BGM, its damn good....very different.
-> Very good acting ...esp: both the lead actors....Naga Chaitanya and Samantha....they both were very apt(I also watched the tamil version but some how felt Simbu and Trisha were a mismatch for this type of love story..though they acted very good).
-> Dialouges: Very simple(which a love story needs) as per the requirement of the scene(no more , no less)....by the way, the whole movie is narrated by Naga Chaitanya..his voice is very good.
-> Scenes with Krishnudu(comedy in the first half).

Bad:
-> Naga Chaitanya's Dances.....actually, this movie needs no dances but you can find some here and there in the songs...but, he did just OK....
-> Pre-Climax: Could have been a bit fast....though it looks OK as per the situation in the movie, many may feel its bit dragged.

On a whole, Don't expect any mass masala in this movie and I am pretty sure you will like it....its worth a watch.

Eating Fruits - Must read ..

Hi Friends

Its a long one , but please read till the end and it is a good piece of information......
______________

"The disease of trying to please everyone will eat you up. It is better to earn a bad name and live a good life than to earn a good name and live a bad life " Please find below very useful health tips - EATING FRUITS

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair , balding , nervous outburst , and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach..

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice , NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer , heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol , prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON : Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Hope that at least you've read this....
It could save your life !!

INTERVIEWS - My Experiences - 1....

I have done many interviews and here are some Do/Don't-do's to follow in an interview .....these are
purely my personal experiences..

Let me start with the phone interviews....

Initial round of interviews(especially in the US) for any position happen over the Phone and below are some Do's/Dont-Do's

Before the call:
1. Try to use a hands free device like the bluetooth, as this will ease you in many ways. So,keep one ready.
2.Just before the call take a deep breath(believe me, this really helps)
3. Keep a glass of water next to you(just to sip in some, when you are listening to the question).....this is clear your throat and kool you a bit.
4. Sing a song out loudly before the call(not when on the call..hehe)....this will clear your throat and will give you some confidence to talk.

During the Interview:
1. Obviously the interviewer will be speaking first...eg: he might mention...like, his name is XXXX
and he has YYYY and ZZZZ with him on the conference....then it will be your turn to speak...this is
very important....;It should be loud and clear with a smile(dont wonder, how can they see your smile..the sound which
comes out while you are smiling and talking is different than talking with a blank space(dont believe it? then,
try it and check yourself)
2. Never pre assume that the inteviewer might be asking only these kinda questions...ofcourse, there might be some
general questions like(tell me about your self etc) but regarding the subject, we should go with open mind.
3. Never read out the answer to the response(from a paper/book etc), as this can be easily recognized by the interviewer.
4. At the end of the call, dont forget to ask few questions....like, where is the project standing right now, what exactly is your expectation
from the candidate you will be hiring for this position..and etc...the intension here is, to make sure the interviewer understand that you are
curious to know about the position and so obviously interested in it.

Adhi matter....next time, I will come up with some personal experiences with Face 2 Face interviews....Stay Tuned :)

A beautiful poem...a soul touching one...

Hi Friends,

On request, from one of my friends Srinivas, I am posting this over here....Please read this beautiful poem on Drunk Drivers and their impact on the people and society.

A beautiful poem...a soul touching one...

"I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load...
As I lay there on the pavement, Mom,
I hear the policeman say,
"The other guy is drunk," Mom,
And now I'm the one who will pay.
I'm lying here dying, Mom....
I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.
There is blood all around me, Mom,
And most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom,
I'll die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom.
The others didn't think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.
Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now.
Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put "GOOD BOY " on my grave.
Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you, you were always there.
I have one last question, Mom.
Before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?"

You Can Do Anything You Set Your Mind to Do!!

Frnzz,

Below is a excellent post by Mr.Green M....read thru...its inspiring!!

"When we were children, our parents always told us that we could do anything we set our mind to do. The scariest part about what our parents said was that they were almost always right. When your Mom or Dad said you could ride that bike, you did. When they said you could climb that ladder, you did. And when they said you could drive that car with a clutch, you finally did.

So what happened to us when we left home? Did we just forget that we could do anything? Did our peers and acquaintances make such a negative and lasting impression on us that we simply forgot what our parents told us? I am here to tell you that it is time to relearn some old lessons.

I must admit that I fell prey to the same demons that everyone else did and forgot what I could accomplish for a long time. But, with the help of a friend, I have slowly started remembering that I can accomplish anything.

Change Your Attitude........

The first thing I did was change my attitude. I watched my friend start an exercise program and loose 20 pounds. I started a similar exercise program with great success because I was beginning to believe that I could do it. My friend got laid off from work and got a job within three weeks because he knew he could do it. I decided to be a better person and pay closer attention to the needs of my friends and family and I did, because I knew I could. All in all, I changed my attitude.

Now all of these changes did not go smoothly. At my age, I sprained my ankle and ended up having to postpone my exercise program for two weeks. Nevertheless, I steeled my resolve because I knew that I could.

Setbacks.........

When something sets you back or does not go as planned, just look at it as learning experience and always keep in the back of your mind that you can do anything you set your mind to do.

Once you change your attitude, set goals that are achievable in the short term and start multiple projects at one time. This way, even if one or two of your initial attempts do not work out immediately, you will still be able to maintain a positive attitude with your successes on other fronts.

If something does fail, evaluate why you think it failed and make changes. Keep trying until you get it right because guess what, you can do anything you set your mind to do. As you achieve more successes your confidence will grow and you will notice that things become easier to do.

Inspiration to pass along

My inspiration to make changes in my life comes from a close friend who decided he needed to get a better paying job. This was about 5 years ago and he was working for just over $30K a year and decided to finish his degree. So, he attended school four nights a week for almost two years until he received a bachelor’s degree. Within one month of receiving the degree he accepted a position earning in excess of $50K a year because he knew that he could do it.

After several years working and then a six month layoff, he was working again making about $45K a year. This was just last year. He decided that he needed to go to extreme measures to increase his salary again.

So, he spent a week or so revamping his entire resume which was packed with some impressive skills. He practiced his approach to the interview process and began looking for a new job. Within three weeks, he got an interview, received an offer and began earning in excess of $70K a year.

Over the course of 5 years, my friend went from making $30K a year to making over $70K a year because he knew that he could do anything he set his mind to do. His story has become my motivation to change my attitude and achieve those things that I thought I could not do for such a long time. So, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and do whatever you want because I know you can do it and you should know it to."

Student made Helicopter - Similar to the one in 3 Idiots!!

In 3 Idiots movie, there is a scene in which a engineering student will try to build a helicopter model for his final project. When I watched that scene, I thought, In India this is not possible as we don't see such stuff in real life(may be in IIT's, we can see, but not in regular engg colleges)...but, these 2 students, who go to a small time college in a village near Hyd, proved me wrong......Yep, they both have built a Helicopter similar to the one in 3 idiots movie....Wow, It feels so good when you see these kind of experiments made by a student who put all his pocket money and other funding from the villagers into this.....they have spent Rs.80,000 till now...really,Hat's Off!!

Way to go guyzz!!

Telangana Formation Vs Telugu Films

Frnzz,
Below is something which is eating up my mind daily..I just wanted to pour it out................

From last one month we are seeing the agitations going around in AP....I understand the need to fight for Telangana and the problems they are facing now...but, why are few groups of people interrupting the film shootings and releases?? I agree(not really though, but, had some XXXXX reason) they did with NTR as his father said Samaikya Andhra and same did Chiru and you interrupted Allu Arjuns shoot....But, what did Mahesh,Rana do? why did these people lit up Mahesh Babu's crores worth by so called Telangana activists(I wonder if they really are??)....not only this,So many innocent people from Andhra, who are living in Hyd are now afraid as their properties are being damaged...I am just bringing this point to make it clear that some DIRTY POLITICIANS are doing all these things and not true Telanganites.....Being a Telangnite myself, I really feel bad looking at all this......To the people who are doing these silly things...my one suggestion....Please grow Up.....this is 2010 and we are fighting like this?? I am not saying to stop the Udyamam, but, please do it peacefully by not falling into the trap of these DIRTY POLITICIANS...These politicians come and go, but, we all should be together....may as neighbor states or as one state....so please stop fighting and do it peacefully.
