INTERVIEWS - My Experiences - 1....

I have done many interviews and here are some Do/Don't-do's to follow in an interview .....these are
purely my personal experiences..

Let me start with the phone interviews....

Initial round of interviews(especially in the US) for any position happen over the Phone and below are some Do's/Dont-Do's

Before the call:
1. Try to use a hands free device like the bluetooth, as this will ease you in many ways. So,keep one ready.
2.Just before the call take a deep breath(believe me, this really helps)
3. Keep a glass of water next to you(just to sip in some, when you are listening to the question).....this is clear your throat and kool you a bit.
4. Sing a song out loudly before the call(not when on the call..hehe)....this will clear your throat and will give you some confidence to talk.

During the Interview:
1. Obviously the interviewer will be speaking first...eg: he might mention...like, his name is XXXX
and he has YYYY and ZZZZ with him on the conference....then it will be your turn to speak...this is
very important....;It should be loud and clear with a smile(dont wonder, how can they see your smile..the sound which
comes out while you are smiling and talking is different than talking with a blank space(dont believe it? then,
try it and check yourself)
2. Never pre assume that the inteviewer might be asking only these kinda questions...ofcourse, there might be some
general questions like(tell me about your self etc) but regarding the subject, we should go with open mind.
3. Never read out the answer to the response(from a paper/book etc), as this can be easily recognized by the interviewer.
4. At the end of the call, dont forget to ask few questions....like, where is the project standing right now, what exactly is your expectation
from the candidate you will be hiring for this position..and etc...the intension here is, to make sure the interviewer understand that you are
curious to know about the position and so obviously interested in it.

Adhi matter....next time, I will come up with some personal experiences with Face 2 Face interviews....Stay Tuned :)

mee,
Raghu Rockz...
